The 2013 IHRA New Zealand Nationals held at Fram Autolite Dragway in Meremere were marred by rain and have been rescheduled to be completed on April 21. Before the rain caused the meeting to be abandoned there was some great racing.

143 competitors fronted hoping to take home an elusive Nationals trophy. One of the happiest would have to be Steve Rossen in his 93 Mazda RX7. He smashed the RR/TS record with a 7.344 at 179.64 mph pass. Barry Plumpton broke both ends of the A/TS records, which he held, with a 7.679 at 179.37. Roger Binnema broke both ends of the CC/TS record with a 7.674 at 180.96. Ross Taylor exceeded both Top Doorslammer records with a 6.227 at 222.62. Wayne Yearbury bettered the Top Doorslammer speed mark with a 227.34 mph pass. The bikes were not left behind either, with Jamie Flavell breaking the B/PCB records with a 10.989 at 117.68 and Spike Allen bettering the AA/AB record with a 7.995 at 170.64.
